Wetlands Wonders…Friday 1st February & Saturday 2nd February 2013

Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens is celebrating World Wetlands Day which is held on February 2nd every year with a series of FREE activities over 2 days.

Friday 1st February join in…

• Free Guided Bird and Lagoon Walks at 9.30, 11.00am and after lunch at 2.00pm and 4.00pm. Meet at the Botanic Gardens Meeting Room.
• View the Wetlands Macro-Invertebrates and Bird Identification displays in the Botanic Gardens Meeting Room

Saturday 2nd February join in… WORLD WETLANDS DAY

• Free Guided Bird and Lagoon Walks at 9.30am and 1.30pm Meet at the Botanic Gardens Meeting Room.
• Kids… at 11.00am, Catch and observe Macro – invertebrates of the Lagoon… those small marvelous creatures who live in the Lagoon waters. Meet Maya at the Boardwalk of the Botanic Gardens.
• Unveiling of 3 new signs on the Lagoon Outlook Deck at 4.00pm, followed by a Friends of the Gardens Guided walk and BBQ.
