Wednesdays, 4-5pm commencing April 3 to end of June and Fridays, 10-11am commencing April 5 to end of October commencing April 14, excluding public holidays. Meet at Botanic Gardens Visitor Information.
Get outdoors and explore the gardens during the cooler months. Discover some of the amazing plants that make up our Living Collection and what ones are at risk in the wild. Spot some of the many birds, native bees and butterflies that make the gardens their home.

7:00am - 8:00am, meet near the Botanic Gardens Playground.
Do you enjoy nature and exercise? Have you heard of the Mackay Parkrun? They have their weekly timed run on every Saturday. It’s free to participate and you can walk, jog or run!

Birdlife Mackay Monthly Surveys

Birdlife Mackay hold their monthly bird surveys throughout Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens to assist in monitoring the status and trends of bird populations in the region and we would love your help!
Upcoming bird surveys in the Botanic Gardens will be held on:

- February 23 at 6am to 8am
- March 29 at 6.30am to 8.30am (note change in time)
- April 26 at 6.30am to 8.30am
- May 31 at 6.30am to 8.30am
- June 28 at 6.30am to 8.30am
- July 26 at 6.30am to 8.30am
- August 30 at 6.30am to 8.30am
- September 27 at 6am to 8am (note change in time)

Native Plants Queensland - Society for Growing Australian Plants Mackay branch - Meetings

Are you interested in local native plants? NPQ - SGAP Mackay branch is a regional branch of Native Plants Queensland. They promote and propagate native plants for this region and hold monthly meetings, propagation mornings, plant sales, planting bees and more. All visitors are welcome.
