Small Explorers: “Water Features and Creatures”

Tuesday, November 11, 9.30am – 11am
Meeting Room, Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens
Cost: free

Let the Botanic Gardens Visitors Services Officer, Maya Harrison, take you and your small children to special areas of the Botanic Gardens to explore 'Water features and creatures'.

Meet at the Meeting Room (opposite the Café on the Lagoon, closed Mondays).

We will go for a walk and find all the different places that water occurs in the Gardens, from fountains, creeks, pools and waterfalls to the lagoon.

Ask the question: Where does the water come from?  We will experiment with evaporation (by painting with water on pavers.

This session involves a short walk to the Gymnosperm Deck to see birdlife, water plants and maybe turtles.
The session includes story reading, information books and a display of water creatures.

Let us know if you wish to come along by contacting the Botanic Gardens on 49527300 and booking the date with us or meet us at the Meeting Room at 9.30am.
Bring along a friend with their young children too.
