Attracting butterflies to your garden

We have compiled a list of different plants species that grow in the Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens that attract different butterfly and moth species.

Do you enjoy walking through the Gardens and seeing the diverse range of bird life? We have started to compile a list of bird species that have preferred food plants that can be found in the Botanic Gardens. This list will be updated as more information is compiled.

The list provides information on:

• bird species scientific name
• bird species common name
• the part of the plant they feed on (fruit/ seed/ nectar)
• plant species scientific name
• plant species common name
• size of the plant (tree/ shrub/ vine)
