'Bush Birds' by Birdlife Mackay

The Lagoons Gallery presents Birdlife Mackay's Photographic Exhibition - 'Bush Birds'. This photographic display is available for viewing until Sunday, January 30 in the Lagoons Gallery within the Botanic Gardens Cafe.

Birdlife Mackay is the local branch of Birdlife Australia, and aims to raise awareness of birds and their habitats in the Mackay, Whitsunday and Isaac regions.

There are over 800 species of birds in Australia, and one third of these can be seen in the Mackay district.

This years’ Exhibition, BUSH BIRDS, showcases a selection of birds found in forests and grasslands in our own backyard and across Queensland.

Taken by local photographers over the last 12 months, the images highlight the colours and character of our diverse birdlife.

This exhibition is on display in the Lagoons Gallery within the Botanic Gardens Café until Sunday January 30.

For more information on the exhibition, phone the Botanic Gardens on 4952 7300.

The cafe and gallery are open Wednesday to Friday, 9am to 2pm and weekends, 8am to 4pm.
