We will be there!

Friends of the Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens at the Annual Farleigh Palm Fete on Sunday, May 18.

This year the Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens Friend’s display will celebrate International Museums Day held annually on May 18.

The “Museum collections make connections” theme is a reminder that museums are living institutions that help create bonds between visitors, generations and cultures around the world. Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens is a Living Museum!

The Botanic Gardens Friends will have their display stall alongside the SGAP stall (Society for Growing of Australian Plants)… helping to make plant connections.

Featured images are Whitsunday Lepiderema Lepiderema sp (Impulse Creek), an un-described small tree only known from a very confined rainforest area in the Whitsundays.  It is a small tree with very attractive pink new growth, small cream flowers and orange-red capsules.

This plant will be one of many native plants (growing in the Botanic Gardens) that is available for sale at the SGAP stall.
