The Botanic Gardens is a great place to discover and learn. Small Explorers (young children) and their parents are invited to come for a special walk through our Tropical Shade Garden and seek out the secrets of the environment.

Find, watch and inspect wildlife, checking out their homes, and how they move. Look for and match different shaped and coloured leaves.

Check out how different plants grow, from fungi to air plants. The walk also includes story reading and artistic activities.
