Metamorphism Magic - Life cycles

2014 January School Holiday activities - 1 session per day on the following dates;
Wednesday, January 22; Thursday, January 23; Friday, January 24 from 10am - 12noon.

Meeting Room; Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens.
Cost $5.00 each

Almost magical changes happen inside chrysalises and cocoons. It is called metamorphism. Caterpillars which crawl along on stumpy little legs transform into delicate winged creatures called moths and butterflies.

Many other creatures have metamorphism as part of their life cycles from egg to adult.

During the 2 hour session, school aged children with Maya…

  •  Will discover creatures at different stages of their Life cycles during a Guided Walk through The Gardens  
      finding, eggs, larvae, pupa or adult creatures.
  •  Create their own magical creature using seedpods, clay, soft wire and leaves.
  •  Play The Bungee Jumping Caterpillars Game and discover the life cycle of the Zodaic Moth.

Each group is limited to 10 children, children to be aged over five.

Payment with Bookings by Friday January 17th 2014 ensures your child attendance. Payment can be made with credit card over the phone.
