Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens Meeting Room is new meeting venue for SGAP

Society for Growing Australian Plants (SGAP) meet this Thursday March 6th at 7.30pm

The March 2014 meeting and all future meetings are to be held in the Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens Meeting Room - 9 Lagoon Street West Mackay - 7.30pm

MEETINGS start at 7.30 and this month the General meeting is followed 'The Aristolochia Story' presented by Ken Gillman.


Membership of the society is open to anyone interested in the growing and preservation of Australian plants. Branch membership includes membership of the Queensland regional group and a range of local activities and benefits.
 
These include friendly informative meetings, plant propagation group workshops, an extensive library, branch publications and a regular newsletter.
 
Visitors are always welcome so please contact us and come along to one of our meetings as a guest.

The Branch Emblem the Mount Blackwood Holly, Graptophyllum ilicifolium, is a vulnerable local species, first introduced into cultivation by the Mackay Branch in 1991.  It is now readily available in the nursery trade as Holly Fuchsia. (featured image)
