Friends of the Gardens Guided walk and 2014 Welcome BBQ

This guided walk on Saturday, February 15 at 4.00pm will be in the Regional Forest precinct of the Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens where there are lots of interesting plants to view.

The original Regional Forest of the Botanic Gardens was planted in 1995 with the garden beds north of the railway line planted in 1998 so this is considered the oldest part of our Botanic Gardens.

The walk will be hosted by Dale Arvidsson, Curator of the Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens and Irene Champion, long time member of the Society for Growing Australian Plants (SGAP) Mackay Branch.

Park in the car park of the Australian South Sea Islander Hut and after the walk please relocate to the main car park of the Botanic Gardens (9 Lagoon Street) for a welcome to 2014 BBQ on the Lagoon Lookout Deck.

Participants are asked to bring either a salad or a sweets dish to share at the BBQ.

RSVP essential by Wednesday, February 12.
