Lagoon’s Gallery and Café

The Mackay Regional Council Library has a wide range of photographic images in their Heritage Collection depicting gracious estates, gardens and the land owners from the early days of Mackay settlement. Estates such as Summerlands, Kaliquil, Rawson’s ‘Hollow’, Winterbourne on Branscombe Plantation and Barnes Garden at Cremorne are featured in this exhibition. Some of these residence and estate names live on today as precincts and garden names in the Botanic Gardens, hence their inclusion in this interesting and historic exhibition.
The Lagoons Gallery and Cafe is open Wednesday to Friday - 10am to 3pm, Weekends 9am to 4pm.
