The Earthly Creations Exhibition features in the Botanic Gardens during the month of July, complimenting the Festival of Arts 2012 theme ‘Earthly Delights’.Three artists using different mediums, but with a common link to the earth will combine their work in an exhibition at Lagoons Gallery and Café 3 July-31 July 2012.

Jenny de Thomasis is an ephemeral artist who creates 2D and 3D works using natural materials and/or found objects.

Lalune Croker is a sculptural ceramicist whose work is inspired by the natural world.

Pam Hutley is a weaver of rugs created using her hand spun wool yarns, which are dyed with roots dug from the earth, leaves and insects.

 

Earthly Creations GROW in the Gardens!… Earthly Creations’ artists invite the community to participate.

You can join in….  July weekends… 7th & 8th, 14th &15th, 21st  &22nd , 28th &29th : 10am – 2pm.
Artists in Residence, Jenny de Thomasis and Pam Hutley will be in the Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens Tropical Shade Garden each weekend in July from 10am to 2pm. They invite visitors to the Botanic Gardens to join them in creating ephemeral sculptural works in natural materials and found objects, and using brightly coloured and textured yarns to weave nests, spider webs, and other interesting shapes that will remain in the garden to become homes for insects, spiders and even birds before returning to the earth as mulch.
