Bungee Jumping Caterpillars are everywhere!

They are even in an exhibition on show in the Lagoons Gallery from May 1 to June 3, 2013

Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens Lagoons Gallery
May 1 – June 3, 2013
Wednesday to Sunday from 9.00am to 4.00pm

The exhibition is a collection of artworks including photography, installations, paintings and illustrations which were fundamental in the development of the ‘The Bungee Jumping Caterpillars’ children’s story book.

The artworks highlight the Zodiac Moth (North Queensland Day Moth) and it dependence on the Tree Omphalea, Omphalea celata, a plant species that is threatened in the wild and is being conserved at the Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens.

The exhibition is to showcase elements which lead to development of the children's story and the Zodiac Moth’s life cycle.
