Amphitheatre almost done

Soon entertainment lovers will be able to enjoy music and theatre outdoors with the Meadowlands Amphitheatre at the Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens undergoing final touches of phase one.

The amphitheatre’s roof has been installed and landscaping is almost complete.

In the coming months further works including permanent facilities such as toilets, fencing and access pathways will commence as phase 2 of the development gets underway.

The Meadowlands Amphitheatre is just the first section of the extensive Meadowlands development.

At the very heart of Meadowlands will be a collection of plants native to the Central Queensland Coast bioregion that surrounds Mackay.

The Meadowlands will  also include:

  • An events precinct
  • Parking for 196 cars 
  • Bus and caravan parking 
  • Extensive walkways and cycle paths
